Article looks to the future of rural surveying and makes recommendations for the development of the profession based upon predicted future profitability levels of particular aspects of rural surveying practice. The author has based his comments on a questionnaire sent out to 602 randomly selected rural surveyors (10% of the population), of which 172 were completed; and the suggestions made cover the next ten years.
