Performance loss in open-plan offices due to noise by speech - 2008 - Journal of Facilities Management 6(3) 2008, 202-211(10) .

Aims to show how individual workplace performance can be adversely affected by other staff talking in nearby workspaces, and in an open-plan office. Uses mathematical models to quantify performance loss. Finds that performance loss, as a result of poor acoustics, can be related to the speech intelligibility in a space. Considers it possible to improve productivity through better design.
