Presents the new measures of the Government to help the housing industry and the mixed response from the building sector. The measures, among others, include: increase of initial payments of contractors at the start of a project; enlarging the range of organisations building homes; reforms to mortgages; more flexibility to access the property market for first time buyers with a househod income of less than £60,000. Shows that for many the measures are not sufficient or are brought up too late to be of real help.
