Suggests that the UK retail property investment market is strong enough to face the current economic slowdown. States that shopping centres are opening, with an average size increasing form 16,000 m2 in 2007 to 25,000 m2 in 2008. Shows that they are the biggest capital market in property to invest in. Declares that the West end market is in good position, due to the huge globalisation of markets over the past 25 years. Explains that property investment from pension and investment plans has grown as the amount of global investment has grown, but that the figure is still low, 10 to 12% in most investment funds. Reveals that there is a need for the pressure on financial markets to reduce to avoid the threat of recession.
