The Experian Business Strategies' "Focus survey of construction activity" of July 2008 reveals that the industry remained fragile during the month. Predicts a slow rise to construction activity in September and October 2008. The non-residential sector was the strongest in July, but experiences difficulties. Explains that the civil engineering sector index improved slightly while the residential sector index slightly decreased. Regional results were mixed, with Scotland's index the strongest and North-east's index second. Northern Ireland's index experienced a sharp fall. Shows the regional performances.
