Left out in the cold - 2008 - Solicitors' Journal 7 October 2008, 14-15(2) .
Article looks at the introduction of tenancy deposit schemes (TDS) and acknowledges that they have been a very useful mechanism for avoiding typical disputes that were previously encountered at the end of residential tenancies. The author discusses the sanctions that can be enacted as part of the legislation and suggests that, while TDS have reduced the involvement of solicitors in the drafting of leases, the formation of a DCLG users' group may ultimately prove the worth solicitor participation in tenancy disputes.
