Reports the continuing rise in material prices, stating that contractor's input costs have increased by 7.2% since June 2008 and jumped by 14.3% over the year. The higher than average costs have largely been caused by increases in the cost of oil, a strong international demand, and the continued weakness of the pound. Labour rates are 20% higher in London than in Northern Ireland. Suggests that the construction industry is currently relying on public sector spending.
