The Experian Business Strategies' "Focus survey of construction activity" of August 2008 reveals that the industry remained fragile during the month. Predicts that the rate of decline to construction activity will slow in October but continue to decline in November 2008. The non-residential sector was the strongest in August, but its index continues to fall. Explains that the civil engineering sector index reported the stongest rate of decline in activity while the residential sector index decreased to a record low. Regional results were mixed, with the North-east's index the strongest and Wales' index second. The North-west's index was the weakest. Shows regional performances.
