BRE Global launches new framework standard for responsible sourcing of construction products [electronic resource]

Reports on the launch of a new framework standard for the responsible sourcing of products by BRE Global. Called BRE Environmental and Sustainability Standard (BES) 6001:2008, it takes into account the social, economic and environmental aspects of sustainability. It deals with issues such as material of production, working conditions of those producing the item, and its impact on the environment. Shows that the standard establishes requirements under three categories: organisational management, supply chain management, environmental and social issues.
