Summarises the case of Dadu Ltd v Barrowfen Properties Ltd [2008] EWCH 90110 (Costs), 5 August 2008 (see L145804). A court prevented a landlord from being able to rely on a costs estimate provided by the tenant's solicitor during settlement negotiations in order to reduce its liability for the payment of legal costs to the tenant. Held: the court determined that without prejudice estimates of costs are not admissible in costs proceedings.
