The Experian Business Strategies' "Focus survey of construction activity" of September 2008 reveals that the industry is still very fragile during the month, with companies' workload and orders continuing to decline. Predicts that the fall will continue in the next quarter but the rate of decline to construction activity will slow. The residential sector's index fell to its lowest fall, 28. Explains that the civil engineering sector's tender enquiry increased four points to 40. Regional results were varied, with the North's index the strongest and Wales' index still in the second position. The North-west's index remained the weakest. Shows regional performances.
