Historic Scotland are undertaking a pilot scheme to assess whether the system of listed building consent can be amended so that certain applications relating to category B buildings can be determined solely by the local authority, without input from Historic Scotland. The pilot involves three local authorities: The City of Edinburgh, Glasgow City and Perth and Kinross Councils, and will run from October to December, with the results being announced in March 2009.
