Article looks at the launch of the new Homebuyer Survey and Valuation (HSV) report for a period of familiarisation with members in early 2009, before coming into full use in July. The report will be known as the RICS Homebuyer Report (HBR) and findings from a survey conducted to gauge member responses to the draft version of the report are presented for inspection. The author also provides additional background information on the report, details on the HSV product review group and answers to some likely frequently asked questions on the report format etc. An extended section on condition ratings is provided (one of the key areas of discussion with the draft report), as well as dates for forthcoming 2009 HBR Road show events.
