Experian Business Strategies' "Focus survey of construction activity" of February 2009 reveals that conditions in the construction industry remain bad, even though most indicators and almost all regions' activity rose. Construction activity increased three points to 35 (seasonally adjusted). Activity increased in all construction sectors, except in the residential sector. Its index declined two points to 31. Orders and tenders enquiries increased. Employment index rose by four points to 27. All 11 regions had composite indicators remaining below 50. Indicators rose for all regions except North-West England and Scotland. Shows regional performances.
