Construction industry still suffering from skills shortage despite the recession [electronic resource]

Reports the results of the CIOB's third annual skills survey, which suggests that 77% of those surveyed think there is a skills shortage in the construction industry, with 76% stating that apprenticeships should be compusory on public projects. There was also concern at the number of students entering the industry, with respondents feeling that this could further impact on skills shortages in the next few years.
