Summarises new data released by the CML which indicates that lending to home buyers continued to fall in 1Q 2009, down by 34% on the previous quarter, and by 52% on 1Q 2008. Suggests that the average deposit required by a first time buyer in Scotland now stands at £26 000, compared to around £14 000 a year ago.
