RICS clarification to members on Foxtons case [electronic resource]

Discusses the High Court ruling in the so called "Foxtons case" (see L147997, The Office of Fair Trading v Foxtons Limited), a decision which is of importance to all RICS members and others involved with the letting of residential property. The case clarifies the position with regard to renewal fees charged by letting agents in that they are not illegal per se, however they must be covered in the contract in an open and transparent way.
