Spending by Canary Wharf's depleted workforce on local services such as restaurants is now much reduced. Experian has estimated that the Canary Wharf area has seen a £15m plus drop in workforce expenditure in the year up to the end of August 2009. City occupiers seeking new and big corporate homes are facing a shortage of properties although the amount of small second-hand office space available is rising.
