Presents statistics of work related illnesses and workplace injuries in Great Britain, for the period April 2008 to March 2009. Reports an important reduction in the number of people killed or injured or suffering work related ill-health. Highlights 180 cases in the category of workplace fatal injuries. 29.3m working days were lost. Concludes that on the matter of enforcement, 1 231 offences were prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive. Tables and maps.
