Experian Business Strategies' "Focus survey of construction activity" of December 2009 reveals construction activity still declining although the rate of decline had eased with the index rising four points to 45. Tender enquiries increased in December but firms struggled to convert these into actual orders with the index here remaining stable at 43. Construction employment continued a bleak trend with the indicator falling to an eight month low of 34.
