The Mortgage Repossession (Protection of Tenants etc) Act 2010 comes into force later this year. This will protect tenants who are made homeless through no fault of their own when their landlords have defaulted on their mortgages by giving the tenant the right to suspend a possession order for two months. It is hoped that this Act will contribute to a strong and well managed private rented sector.
