HIPs are history Pickles suspends Home Information Packs with immediate effect - 2010 - United Kingdom Department for Communities and Local Government News Release 19 May 2010 .

Home information packs (HIPs) are suspended with effect from 21 May 2010 pending primary legislation for permanent abolition. Requirements for valid domestic energy certificate are laid down in Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 currently before Parliament.
