Launch of marine body a "defining moment" for our seas [electronic resource]

National launch of Marine Management Organisation(MMO) which has been operating since April 2010. The new executive non-departmental public body was established under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 and brings together key marine decision making powers. The MMO's role will include being the national champion of sustainable development in our marine and coastal area, implementing a new marine planning system and streamlining the management and regulation of England's fisheries.
