'Garden grabbing' concerns raised by new figures [electronic resource]

Statistics show a total of 25% of new homes were built on previously residential land, up 14 percentage points since 1997. The new government has acted on concerns of unwanted garden grabbing by taking gardens out of the brownfield category which gives councils greater powers to prevent developers building homes on gardens.
