Bribery Act 2010 will come into force in April 2011. The offences will cover public and private sector bribery and will include a person offering to receive or accept an advantage in circumstances involving the improper performance of a relevant function or activity. Penalties are up to 10 years imprisonment or an unlimited fine for individuals.
