Dinesh Dhamija [and] Tani Dhamija v Sunningdale Joineries Ltd, Lewandowski Willcox Limited, McBains Cooper Consulting Limited [electronic resource] - 2010

[2010] EWHC 2396 (TCC) 10 September 2010. Considers whether a quantity surveyor has a duty to only value work that has been properly executed by a contractor and is not obviously defective. Suggests that such a duty was implied by the terms of the building contract which said that the quantity surveyor should include in his interim certificate a percentage based on the value of the works "properly executed". Concludes that the claim is unsustainable in this case because the QS complied with this duty.
