Leamington Spa's consistenly unsuccessful Regency Arcade shopping centre is to be converted into a Premier Inn. Property developers almost unknown in their own industry are busy in the UK developing hotels by buying franchises of international hotel brands such as Hilton and InterContinental. Savills report s that foreign investment in UK hotels doubled in 2010, the majority of investors coming from Asia. New London hotels are arising from Victorian buildings: the Corinthia Hotel from the Old War Office, Whitehall Place and the as yet unnamed boutique hotel from the Bow Street magistrates' court , Covent Garden.
