The latest analysis of retail vacancy rates from the Local Data Company covering 500 centres and 60 000 shops over the last three months shows shops continuing to be vacated albeit at a slower rate than two years ago. Localism is key as performance differs widely across centres, counties and regions. Consumer spending is on hold and retail is facing its most challenging year since 2007.
