UK secures agreement for International Space Agencies to support disaster efforts worldwide

Agreement gained by the UK on providing universal access to satellite images during natural emergencies during the first meeting as Chair of the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters. Any country will now be able to draw upon the data provided by the charter to inform authorities and save lives. The Charter was set up in 1999 and is an agreement that coordinates space agencies worldwide in gathering vital satellite images of disaster sticken regions.
