Lynton Developments seals its first significant deal in the south of England with Tesco taking a 120 000 sq ft warehouse at Manor Royal business park near London Gatwick. Waitrose expands its online operation with a pre-let of 400 000 sq ft distribution centre at Chorley, Lancashire. Demand for UK airport distribution space will continue to grow as freight cargo volumes rise. Since April a steady stream of industrial portfolios has hit the market: mostly south-east multi-let estates considered good secondary assets. Latest DTZ research shows the recovery in the big shed market during 2010 has continued in Q1 2011.
