Notes that there are a number of extremely complex regulations that make investing overseas complicated for Chinese companies as different rules apply depending on whether the Chinese buyer is a company or an individual. However the rules have slowly become more simplified firstly in 2009 and more recently in March 2011. Certain investments can now follow a fast track but large scale developments still need central approval.
