Clarifies some of the points raised by RICS members about the new RICS Valuer Registration Scheme, membership of which becomes mandatory for RICS members wishing to carry out Red Book valuations in the UK from 30 April 2011. Lists the kinds of valuation work for which registration is not obligatory. Registered valuers will designate themselves 'RICS Registered Valuer'.
