More communities chosen to try out new planning powers [electronic resource] - 2011 - Department for Communities and Local Government News Release 31 August 2011 .

Planning Minister Greg Clark announces neighbourhood planning is to be trialled in 36 more front-runner areas in England. Neighbourhood planning is a radical new power being introduced in the Localism Bill to give local people a real voice in deciding how development will look in their area by allowing communities to decide the location of shops, offices and schools and to set standards for new housing and the protection of green spaces of value to the community.
