Demand for private retirement homes is growing but developers are still being held back by planning laws. Presents research data from Savills which confirms the wealth held by older people and that they do not wish to move into 'elderly enclaves': over-65s own £1tr of housing; older households move fewer times; and over-50s is the fastest growing demographic group. Specialist developers and managing agents involved in retirement housing are under pressure to clean up their act.
