Second Annual Energy Statement (AES) delivered to Parliament on 23 November 2011. Describes progress made in the year since the last AES and makes particular focus on the impact of policies on energy prices and bills. Part of the strategy of reducing the amount of energy used in homes is the introduction of the Green Deal from October 2012 which will make energy saving easier for householders, owners and tenants. Other measures include the Energy Company Obligation which is a subsidy to help the fuel poor and those with hard-to-insulate homes cut their energy use and their bills.
