Argues that Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) are useful facilitors for change and authorities should not be prevented from using them by the experience of Bromley by Bow. Here in March 2010 the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation applied for a CPO to regenerate 5.4ha of land on the edge of the Olympic Park; this project was rejected in August 2011.
