Energy and Climate Change Secretary Edward Davy announces exploratory hydraulic fracturing (fracking) for shale gas can resume in the UK, subject to new controls to mitigate the risks of seismic activity. These new controls include a prior review before fracking begins to assess the seismic risk and monitoring to be also carried out during and after fracking.
