Has the specialist planning court lived up to expectations now it is just over one year old? Notes that a recent study has shown that until Feb 2015, 109 planning cases were heard at the court with the average time for a case being down compared with 2011 although it was noted that a small number of cases took a substantial amount of time. Concludes that the first year of the Court has been a success but further changes to the Criminal Justice and Court Act 2015 could lead to the court considering the planning merits of a development which could lead to delays in other areas.
