"Cormack v Washbourne" CA 2 December 1996. If the surveyor had looked at the geological map of the area he would have seen the house was sited close to reading beds and concluded there was a risk of subsidence. Subsequently, the plaintiffs would not have bought the house. Appeal dismissed.
