Renwick v Rodger

Renwick v Rodger - 1988 - Scots Law Times (1988) SLT 23-25(3) .

Scottish Land Court 13 October 1987. An application by the tenant of a hill sheep farm for approval to carry out an improvement to his holding. The improvement was to be the erection of a dwelling house on the holding for use by his son. Held 1) that the test to be applied was whether the improvement was reasonably necessary on agricultural grounds for the efficient management of the holding; and 2) in applying this test the court granted application to approve unconditionally the carrying out of the improvement.
