Reports on a landmark decision by Nottinghamshire Valuation Tribunal which questions the use of the contractors test for a whole range of local authority leisure properties. A case study in point, is the Royal Centre, Nottingham, where the rv has been dramatically reduced from £1,230,000 to £174,000 a downwards adjustment of 86%. Considers that this may have implications for the valuation of some local authority hereditaments in the current list and probably far reaching ramifications for the revaluation in 1995.
