The RICS is calling for reform of legislation on compensation for compulsory acquisition to relieve some of the distress faced by those affected by the North Kent rail link. Suggestions include serving purchase notices on statutory bodies such as British Rail to ensure property is purchased at full market value with additional payment for distress and disturbance.
