In Jacovides and Another v Constantinou , QBD 23 October 1986, purchasers of a fish and chip shop were awarded damages against the vendor who had misrepresented to the purchasers that the public health authority had not required any work to be done to the premises in question when, in fact, legal proceedings had been threatened if certain works were not undertaken.
