Figures compiled jointly by the Association of District Councils and the Association of Metropolitan Authorities predict that local authority housing investment will fall by up to 70% by 1993-94. This will have a dramatic effect on the construction industry . Local authorities are only allowed to invest 25% of revenue from house sales .
