In SCP Boscher Studer and Fromentin v SA British Motors Wright and others , European Court of Justice 30 April 1991, it was held that national legislation which required that a vendor of goods at a public auction be previously entered in the commercial register for the area in which the auction was to take place was likely to impede the free movement of goods .
