Summary of the provisions of the Housing Bill and the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Bill. The provisions of the Housing Bill are a framework for homelessness, further promotion of assured shorthold tenancies, powers for housing authorities and HATs to grant introductory tenancies, new grounds and procedures for obtaining possession in respect of anti-social behaviour and a new framework for the social rented sector. The Housing Grants Bill provides a new framework for renewal of private sector housing, introduces deferred action by local authorities in respect of unfit housing, creates a statutory footing for the Single Regeneration Budget.
