The chapters on the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 and work equipment have been comprehensively revised to account for the new approved code of practice on CDM and the provision of Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and Lifting Operators and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 respectively. Two new chapters have been added to reflect the increasing tendency for construction fatalities to be investigated by the Police (with a view to bringing manslaughter charges) and the usefulness of having comprehensive management plans in place to deal with such crises.
