| Summary, etc. | Records that house prices rose for a sixth consecutive month in April. Larger property types such as three or four bedroom houses are outperforming flats in terms of price rises with the differential between the sectors the largest since the latter half of 2001. New enquiries to purchase property continued to rise in April, up for a record eleventh consecutive month. Complete property sales showed no change in April. Choice for prospective buyers has further diminished with properties for sale down 10% since August 2004.and at the lowest level since October 2004. The balance of the market is continuing to swing in favour of sellers. Optimism over both prices and sales slipped back in April.
