Summary, etc. Reports a strong economic rebound in the second quarter of 2006, heightening fears of accelerating inflation. Concerns over interest rates are being expressed, and RICS believes a tightening of monetary policy is likely towards the end of the year. Occupier demand in the commercial property market rose at the fastest pace in two years, with office and industrial sectors seeing a pick up in activity levels. Construction industry data for the second quarter of 2006 indicates a sustained a recovery in activity in the first quarter. House prices rose firmly in June, up at the fastest pace in just over two years. Graphs.
