Summary, etc. A report prepared by King Sturge LLP in association with business in the community. Provides insight into a nationwide study which looks at the contribution of the retail sector to the economy, employment and regeneration. It is different because it looks at the impact of retail on people who work or have worked in the sector. The purpose of the project was to inspire informed debate among both private and public sector parties of the importance of retail jobs to both the micro and macro economy. Includes the survey questions and a breakdown of the participants' responses. Concludes with a number of challenges to those engaged in retail, from the public and private sectors, to consider the potential for retail to be a key driver for regeneration programmes that have a real and sustained impact.
